On June 4th , Sichuan-South Korea Economic Cooperation Orientation and Project Signing Ceremony with the theme “New Tianfu, New Opportunity” has been held in the capital city of Korea, Seoul. This activity is organized by both Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and Chinese ambassador to South Korea embassy, which is the one of the main activities of “ Tianfu Sichuan Week in Japan (Korea)”. Sichuan Provincial People’s Government vice-governor Gan Lin and Chinese ambassador to South Korea Zhang Xin attended and addressed at the opening ceremony.

     During the orientation, more than 100 representatives from enterprises and development zones, such as Jiu Zhou Electronical, Nan Jun Vehicle in Zi Yang, Vanadium and Titanium production zone in Pan Zhihua negotiated with more than 200 representatives from Korean enterprises such as Samsung, LG and SK. Then they signed more than 10 cooperation project, including SK Group project in China's western region headquarters, Xi Jie Group manufacturing base capital and production expansion project and LGCNS city intelligential construction project, related to electronic information industry, mechanical manufacturing, biological pharmaceutical and modern service industry. Total investment trade is 5 billion RMB.

     In recent years, the economic and trade cooperation between Sichuan and Korean enterprises has developed rapidly. By the end of March 2012, there have been 168 Korean enterprises invest in Sichuan, with a total investment volum of 330 million dollar. In 2011, total export and import volume of Sichuan-Korea was 2.68 billion dollars, among which, Sichuan exported to Korea 600 million dollar, increased by 67.4% compare to last year, and imported from South Korea 2.08 billion dollar, increased by 208.3% compare to last year. The vice president of KOTRA expressed that economic complementarity is strong between Sichuan and Korea with huge cooperation potentials. Through this activity, the enterprises of South Korea further enhance their confidence to invest in Sichuan.

      On the same day, “China Sichuan specialty products exhibition”, which was held by Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, was displayed in Seoul, and 45 enterprises from Sichuan participated. Products mainly emphasize the characteristics as fame, excellence, novelty, speciality and green with high scientific and technological content, strong national flavor. Gan Lin and the president of the Goodwill Association attended the exhibition opening ceremony.
