The 13th Western China International Fair (hereafter referred to as the WCIF) will be held between September 20 and 25, 2012, in Chengdu, Sichuan. 8 major activities and 6 pavilions will be prepared for this event, and 80,000 guests and merchants are expected to be invited, which is pointed out in the preparation meeting of WCIF on April 26, in Hohhot, Inner Mongol Autonomous Region, the rotating chairman unit of the 13th WCIF.  

    The theme of the 13th WCIF is “deepening international cooperation, accelerating the western development”, and the duration is one day longer than before. One major exhibition venue and several branch pavilions will be established mainly to show the independent innovation products and overseas enterprise products, advantage industry in western region and market demand at home and abroad. The main exhibition venue of the 13th WCIF in 2012 will cover an area of 120,000㎡, including six halls, namely, Western Cooperation Hall, International Cooperation Hall, Hi-tech Hall, Electronic Information Hall, Equipment Manufacturing Hall and Agriculture Hall, as well as outdoor exhibition area.

     During the fair, a range of international forums, investment promotion and trade cooperation events, such as the 5th Western China International Cooperation Forum, the Conference on Investing in Western China cum Ceremony of Signing Economic Cooperation Contracts, the 2012 Western China International Sourcing Fair, the 7th China-EU Investment & Trade Cooperation Financial Forum, 2012 Well-known Entrepreneur Visiting to Sichuan Activity, 2012 Asian Educational Forum and Western Educational International Development Forum, will be held.

    As an important diplomatic service platform of WCIF, the 5th Western China International Cooperation   Forum will be hosted by the WCIF organization, United Nations Development Program and Asian Development Bank, with the theme of “Real Economy in Pan-Asia Cooperation”. Heads of states and regions, leaders of international organizations will attend and address. 14 special activities, such as the 5th Asian Trade Promotion Forum and Exhibition—Asia Trade Promotion Forum China Western Seminar of Collaboration in 2012, The Second Session of China-India Business Forum, 2012 Overseas New and High Science—High—End Talent Forum, Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce Summit, the 9th Session of the International Tourism and Culture Promotion Conference, Balancing Urban and Rural Development and Modern Agriculture Development Forum, Service Outsourcing Cooperation Forum between China and India, The Sino-British Trade Forum, The United States Investment Forum, South Korea and Sichuan Cooperation Forums and Cultural Exchange Activities, The 8th Session of Western China International Hardware & Electrical Expo, China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives to Build Complete Advanced Waste Product Recycling System Forum, will be held.

    By April 18, the WCIF organization has received 2111 investment promotion projects, with a total investment volume of 1.7822 trillion yuan. Online docking and negotiation have also been launched.
