United Nations Procurement Division has officially confirmed that they would co-host the 2012 Western China International Sourcing Fair (WCISF) after the United Nations Office for Project Services co-hosted the WCISF last year. So far, the 2012 WCISF has two United Nations specialized procurement agencies including the United Nations Office for Project Services and United Nations Procurement Division to host jointly. This fair has been further enhanced on the international and professional level.
United Nations Procurement Division is one of the largest and the most important procurement agencies of the United Nations. It is mainly responsible for the procurement of various goods and services for the United Nations Headquarters in New York, peacekeeping missions scattered around the world, the regional commissions, international tribunals, and several other organizations. Those various goods and services to be purchased include air transportation, motor vehicles, food and catering services, computer and data processing, printing services and office supplies.
Dmitri Dovgopoly, the director of the United Nations Procurement Division attended the 2011 WCISF with part of the procurement plans. He negotiated with a number of participating companies. Dmitri Dovgopoly held the belief that the cooperation between the United Nations and the western enterprises will be promising in the future. This year, the United Nations Procurement Division’s participation in co-hosting the souring fair will further deepen such cooperation; let the participating companies step closer to the United Nations purchasing and promote the international development of the enterprises.
