Recently, the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has sent

a letter to theOrganizing Committee of the Western China International Fair

to confirm the participation in hosting the 2011 Western China International

Sourcing Fair. Director-General of the United Nations Office for Project

Services, Mr. Michael Trustworthy West will be invited to attend this

Western China International Fair and Western China International Sourcing Fair.

    United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is a branch agency of

United Nations,which is responsible for assisting the developing countries and

countries in transition period to provide project management, loan management

and supervision, certification and dispatch of experts, subcontracting of

labor and services, procurement of equipment and commodity etc.

    United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is the first time to

participate in hosting the Sourcing Fair. During the fair, the procurement

introduction of the United Nations and docking fair will be held. At the same

time, United Nations specialized procurement spot will be set up in the main

exhibition area of the Twelfth Western China International Fair. The branch

agencies of the United Nations including United Nations Food Programme, United

Nations Development Programme, United Nations World Health Organization and

the United Nations Procurement Division will also participate in the Sourcing

Fair.

    2011 Western China International Sourcing Fair is one of the major events

of the 12th Western China International Fair, which is co-hosted by the

United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), the Commerce Department

and People's Government of Sichuan Province. As an important carrier of the

Twelfth Western Fair trade cooperation platform, this Sourcing Fair will

promote the economic and trade cooperation pragmatically, further highlight

the internationalization, professionalization and effectiveness. 12,000

professional visitors as well as international buyers from Central Asia, West

Asia, South Asia, Europe and America, including 1000 main buyers who have

large procurement plans are expected to attend this fair. To strengthen the

docking of buying and supporting, and promote the effectiveness of trade,

this Sourcing Fair will hold targeted electronic information, high-tech,

equipment manufacturing and agricultural industries, and other special docking

fairs.
