The preparatory work of the major events and specialized activities for the 11th WCIF has sped up. Event organizers and executors have ceaselessly refined and perfected the operational solutions to facilitate the preparatory work quickly and orderly. To date, various events organizers and executors have all together submitted nearly 40 major events and specialized activities to the secretariat.

 
        On top of the list are those vigorously sponsored by the central government and hosted by the ministries. Ministry-level organizations such as National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MITT), Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), State Administration for Industry & Commerce (SAIC), General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce, All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives and etc, will join hands with a number of Sichuan Provincial Departments to jointly or solely host 21 major events and/or specialized activities in the 3rd Western China International Cooperation Forum, 2010 Global Trade Forum, The Investment Promotion Fair and Economic Cooperation Signing Ceremony of the 12 Western China Provinces, Autonomous Regions, Municipalities and Xinjiang Construction Corp, serial activities of The 60th Anniversary of the China-India diplomatic ties -- India Festival Closing Ceremony and the First China-India Business Forum, the 5th China-EU Investment and Trade Fair, The 4th China-Latin America Entrepreneur Summit, Sichuan's First Worldwide Chinese Businessmen Conference and Overseas Chinese High Technology Fair, International Advertisement Industry Development (China) Forum,  the 3rd Western China Cross-strait Electronic Information Industry Cooperation Forum, the 17th China Quality Development High-level Forum, Western China Modern Agriculture Development International High-level Forum, the 7th International Tourism and Culture Featured Briefing, the First China Energy Saving and Emission Reduction and Structure Adjustment Summit, Western China Characteristic Agricultural Products Cultivation and Industrialized Operation Forum, Eastern and Western China Private Enterprises Cooperation Development Talkfest, the 2nd Western China International Capital Forum and etc.

 
         Then there come the themed activities enthusiastically held by the western provinces, autonomous regions and municipality governments. 4 provinces and autonomous regions of Gansu, Guangxi, Qinghai and Tibet have ensured to hold Provincial Events. Draft plans for Qinghai Briefing on Investment Environment and Projects Promotion and Tibetan Promotion on Major Projects have been submitted to the Secretariat. The 2 local governments are orderly launching organizing works. Provincial Events plans for Gansu and Guangxi are in the run of completion and finalizing.

 
         Come on third are the initiatives taken by various cities and prefectures from Sichuan to launch match-making projects and cooperation negotiations. 10 cities and prefectures of Mianyang, Ya'an, Neijiang, Liangshan, Leshan, Guang'an, Luzhou, Panzhihua, Yibin and Ziyang have ascertained 14 events on investments briefings and regional cooperation projects match-making.

 
         At present, the Fair Secretariat on one hand is speeding up the purposed contact with every participating organization in particular those western provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and Xinjiang Construction Corp trying to get more western local governments to host more themed and specialized activities. Meanwhile, the Fair Secretariat is working effectively to consolidate the scheduling and venues of those confirmed events, trying to form the base event plan out for the 11th WCIF by end of this July.
